Watch a short video to learn how the global RFA in Synergy/DE 9.3 makes it easier than ever to implement optimistic concurrency.

Tired of wasting your time trying to figure out which user has a record locked? Don’t lock it in the first place! Synergy/DE 9.3’s global RFA (GRFA) feature makes it easier than ever to implement optimistic concurrency.

Simply make an unlocked read on your record and store off the GRFA. When it comes time to update, pass back the GRFA during a new locked read; if you get a RECORD NOT SAME error, you’ll know the record’s been changed by someone else, and you can take appropriate action. You’ll even receive the latest copy of the record for analysis!

We highly recommend optimistic concurrency to decrease lock contention issues, and this GRFA feature makes it easy for you to implement it.

Watch a short video to learn how you too can experience stunning performance boosts with the new Select class in Synergy/DE 9.3!

With the increase in computer system security regulations and end-user security concerns, data encryption has become a requirement for many business solutions.

NEW in Synergy/DE 9.3: You can now encrypt sensitive Synergy/DE data using industry-standard cipher techniques in three application areas:

* When storing data fields to a Synergy DBMS file (ISAM or relative)
* When transfering data between your client application and xfServer
* When transferring data between your xfNetLink client application and xfServerPlus
* And, Synergy/DE encryption gives you control over what you encrypt and what level of encryption you use.

Watch a short video to learn how you too can experience stunning performance boosts with the new Select class in Synergy/DE 9.3!

New in Synergy/DE 9.3, the Select class is a group of classes and class members that enable you to simplify your selection logic and significantly improve the performance of remote file access. It supports SQL-like data selection and enables you to read only those records that meet certain criteria.

The Select class outperforms a typical READS loop because the filtering is done at a lower system level. This increase in performance can be very significant when you access remote data via xfServer because the I/O layer on the server is now doing the filtering, rather than returning the data to the client to process.
